I think we definitely learned that Findley, Bornstein, and Torres should not be on the field in South Africa.
I know you guys like the Mexican League, but Torres can’t keep up at this level. They need an attacking midfielder, but he was dreadful. You can’t have a guy in the midfield just giving the ball away every time he gets it. He was killing the US in the first half, and they played much better when he was replaced at halftime, moving Bradley up a little.
Torres may have a future in the national team, but I don’t think he’s ready this summer, judging by today’s performance.
I’m sticking with my evaluation of Torres, though I can’t disagree with your first statement as it concerns a starting XI. He would absolutely be on my bench, and nothing that happened yesterday informed a change in that stance.
Nice work. But shouldn’t you keep your women’s soccer commentary only to the women’s soccer podcast.
Thanks, E.
It’s a good question. We realize that not everybody wants to hear about the women’s game, which is why we push it to the end of the show; however, ideally, we wouldn’t have a Women’s Podcast at all. It’s a reality of the current world, but if I had my way, the women’s content would be seamlessly integrated into the men’s content – just soccer content.
