Set Piece Analyst Kartik Krishnaiyer has been announced as the Director of Communications and Public Relations for the nascent North American Soccer League. He will start immediately.
Krishnaiyer is a founding owner and contributor to Set Piece Analysts.
As a consequence of this hire, Krishnaiyer will reduce his writing and broadcasting work after January 31st. An NASL press release confirmed that the new PR director will cease his work at Major League Soccer Talk and The Kartik Report while reducing his contributions to EPL Talk.
“He is one of the most recognizable bloggers and soccer writers in general in North America and brings instant credibility,” said Aaron Davidson, VP, Sales and Marketing for the NASL.
“We look forward to growing the awareness of the new NASL and our teams amongst the media and fans under Kartik’s leadership.”
Krishnaiyer has been connected with the NASL brand since 1981, when he was a ball boy for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
“I am excited to join a group of innovative owners and clubs that are committed to growing the game in North America while honoring the history and legacy of the original NASL,” Krishnaiyer said, in the NASL’s statement.
Krishnaiyer’s responsibilities of hosting the EPL and MLS Talk podcasts will be assumed by fellow SPA Richard Farley, who will also submit written content to those sites.
Both Krishnaiyer and Farley will maintain their relationships with Set Piece Analysts, where each are site owners.
